Iulian Cristea

Iulian Cristea (b. 1991, Republic of Moldova) studied sculpture at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chisinau, at the National University of Arts in Bucharest and at the Saar University of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken, Germany. Numerous national and international competitions have awarded him prizes, and he has displayed his work in Bucharest, Chisinau, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, and Luxembourg.

Iulian explores the quantification of imagination, the filtering and aesthetic abstraction of some metaphysical landscapes. In his sculptures and drawings, he follows the instinct, inviting the viewer to ponder the mystery of an uninhabited, abandoned planet, and the meaning of man’s absence.
